Ester was never in love with Ben Tennyson, she was in love with Ben 10 (hero), I don't know why she tried to continue being his girlfriend after meeting him. Ben never reciprocated, but Ben is always a bad boyfriend. I'm happy that she was able to get a better boyfriend (Antonio) like Julie. Kai and Ben are bad boyfriends so I'm not surprised they got married (canon).
